Oceanique Emotional Weight

Earlier this month, twin folk duo Oceanique revealed yet another captivating take from a destined upcoming body of work with their new single 'Emotional Weight'. Now the sisters Maddy and Jess are excited to reveal the track's awe-inspiring visual accompaniment courtesy of local filmmaker Tashi Hall in the lead up to a stint of Western Australian single launch shows this month.

From sun-kissed curly locks, to gently flowing fabric on a West Coast breeze and felled tree trunks amidst a dying grassy field, the visuals of 'Emotional Weight' perfectly capture the exquisite ache of Oceanique's lofty harmonies and spine tingling production. Filmed and edited by local filmmaker Tashi Hall, the video is buoyed by sweeping slow-motion shots and earthy colour palettes in an altogether grounding yet transportive vignette of life's ebb and flow.

"We really wanted to create that feeling of the push and pull of life, with the lighter scenes conveying how people can see you only from the outside, sometimes there is a greater emotion kept within that people don't see. So, we wanted the blue toned scenes to feel more weighty, to show that emotion. We feel very grateful to have worked with Tashi on this project, it was so much fun to film, and it was a perfect mix of creative minds!" – Oceanique
