Oz Comic Con Melbourne

Oz Comic Con Melbourne

We got our Geek on at Oz Comic Con Melbourne

As newbies to Comic Con, we didn't really know what to expect other than reports that there are lots of dress ups.  Well that was very evident as we entered the hall, not only were there professional actors and models in character outfits, but a lot of the crowd had also gone to a lot of effort to dress up.

What would Comic Con be without classics of Marvel and Star Wars, especially Chewy...

Traditionally Comic Con celebrates all things comic, but it seems the lines are starting to blur with so many blockbuster movies centred around old favourite comics.

Big this year was Riverdale, Teen Drama/Mystery Series.

The series features an ensemble cast based on the characters of Archie Comics, with KJ Apa in the role of Archie Andrews; Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, and Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones, the series' narrator.  The Series also incorporates Josie & The Pussycats, with some great tunes built into the storyline.

KJ Apa definitely drew in the crowd, with sellouts in the photobooths and full auditorium.

Enjoying his time in Australia, KJ Apa has enjoyed "hanging out with the boys it's just a bit more chill"

Talking on the love scenes, KJ says "it's always awkward... especially working with someone you don't really know".  He went on to talk about

"We are so lucky to have Luke, especially because of his past, literally the biggest show of that time and having him there for advice is like gold. He's helped me a lot and we hang out a lot.... luke's the man he'll grab stuff after the set and help the crew grabbing lights and stuff... he just gets down for it."

The hardest thing to do on set is the kissing scene, I hadn't kissed many girls before that, so weeks before the scene was scheduled... knowing I had to do it... what if I suck at kissing.... when it came down to the day I was 16 and my mum making breakfast.... I ran to the bathroom and I was like you can do this...." when it came to the scene, "I walked in there like I was the man, we did it, and it was awkward as... cause I truly was an aweful kisser.... after that I felt so wrapped... then I had do it like each week cause she was my girlfriend now right so we were kissing all the time"

Also out and about were the cast of Occupation:

Some town residents have to band together after a devastating alien invasion. As they struggle to survive, they realize they must stay one step ahead of their attackers and work together for a chance to strike back.

Pictured Charles Terrier.

Occupation will be out 20 July 2018
