Adelaide's Paradise Club are the whole package - not only are they churning out dance worthy hit after hit, they're also responsible for their own iconic aesthetics. Along with a video for their latest track 'Above Me', the band have also revealed a 7" single released via Farmer & The Owl to accompany their single tour this August.
Merging dreamlike minimalist scenes with trippy layered visuals, the video for 'Above Me' proves the band's strong sense of visual identity as it coincides with their music - they have always been heavily involved in both direction and post production for their videos. Created alongside collaborators Kyle Davis and Michael Harpas, the clip splices contrasting scenes of bright and barren salt plains, dimly lit night scenes in a sports car, melancholic pondering and carefree dancing.
Written reflectively about the complexities of human relationships, both the song and video embody emotional highs and lows, with personal touches including a feature from lead singer Gere Fuss' sister Jana, and laser lights akin to a nightclub, an ode to the band's love of dance music.
After being taken under the management wing of newly launched Planet Shhh - brainchild of West Thebarton's Josh Healey and Tom Gordon, Paradise Club caught the attention of Wollongong label Farmer & The Owl, who are releasing a limited edition 7" single featuring 'Above Me' and their 2017 single 'Saturday Night'.
The release coincides with the bands single tour this August, the four piece hitting the road to play five shows down the east coast, ending with a home show in Adelaide. Watch the clip, learn the dance moves and get ready to join the Club.
