PRE-WEDDING COSMETIC TREATMENTS
When planning for your wedding day high on the agenda will be the dress, the hair, nails and make-up. But what about Botox, a chemical peel or dermal fillers?
According to the Cosmetic Physicians Society of Australia (CPSA) which represents Doctors specializing in non-invasive cosmetic treatments, such procedures are increasingly becoming the most sought after treatments for brides-to-be, their mothers and others in the bridal party who want to look and feel their best on the big day.
"Very often people consider having a variety of cosmetic procedures to improve their appearance yet never actually go through with it. Then a major event will come up, such as a wedding, which will prompt a bride-to-be or other wedding party members to finally make that appointment for a pre-wedding cosmetic treatment or tweak to refresh their appearance. The treatments sought vary from lunchtime botox to a series of microdermabrasion or chemical skin peels,"says Philippa McCaffery from the CPSA.
"The problem is that you need to plan well ahead for optimal results. if you are considering a cosmetic procedure before your wedding you should ensure you consult a CPSA member regarding the time frame for treatment and recovery."
"The time for recovery and the achievement of optimum results varies greatly between treatments. For example, the effects of Botox can be seen almost immediately, however it is recommended that treatment is sought a minimum of 4 weeks prior to the wedding date to achieve the optimal look," says Philippa McCaffery.
It is important to make sure you do your research to find a recognised physician who is has trained and specializes in the treatment youre seeking. To find a CPSA member in your area visit www.cosmeticphysicians.org.au
