Black Market Records is proud to present the 8th Punk Rock Explosion show, which is once again to be held at the first-rate Lewisham Hotel. As always, the show will be held on the first Friday of the month, May 4. It's time to break out the old pleathers and strap on some Doc Martens cos it's gonna be a rowdy, electric frenzy of drunken punk rock tomfoolery.
Apart from providing you with your fill of $5 Jagerbombs, Black Market Records brings you a showcase of Australia's punk rock elite, including Brisbane legends The Black Market (as seen on ABC TV's 'Rage' and triple j's Short.Fast.Loud) and the Sponge Dregz. Top Sydney ska-punk band Steppin' Razor will also be fuelling the fire, and also adding to the flames will be the melodic punk stylings of local band Sniperival.
Headlining this month's show are Melbourne legends, the one and onlyYidcore. Yidcore have just released their new album "They Tried to Kill Us.They Failed. Let's Eat." On April 7, and if you haven't heard or seen thembefore, you're in for something special. Yidcore lead the world in the fieldof Jewish-themed punk rock, and have already earned the respect of thousandsof punkers worldwide as well as featuring on a Discovery Channel documentaryand being played countless times on Rage and Triple J.
The Livehouse (aka The Lewisham Hotel) is arguably the best punk venue inSydney and not just because of the cheap Jagerbombs. Just one bus away fromthe city, it's located on the corner of Parramatta Rd and Old CanterburyRoad.
