Queenscliff Music Festival announce even more stellar acts to join their already rockin 2022 line up. These new acts put the icing on the Festival cake for QMF whilst tickets fly out the door.
Into the 2022 QMF musical mix will go Brooklyn, NY based Daddy Long Legs, described by Rolling Stone Magazine as ".like Chicago blues fired at the moon, played by the demented children of the Pretty Things" along with Australia's own blues goddess Mia Dyson on her return from the US.
Cat Empires' musical maestro Felix Riebl will perform his new album Everyday Amen which is set for release on the eve of the Festival, whilst rapper producer/ multi instrumentalist Joelistics guarantees new dance floor moves and San Lazaro, a tribe of long-lost Latinos with backgrounds from Chile and Uruguay to Cuba to Catalonia bring the hip shaking latin vibes.
The high energy 8 piece funk and reggae sensation, Andrew Gurruwiwi Band have honed their chops on the beach at Birrtjimi and in the dirt of Yirrkala and write real funk jams in their native tongue, will introduce QMF audiences to their unique and truly fresh Yolngu Funk sound, a style only hinted at previously on the impossible-to-find pair of 7-inches cut by George Rrurrambu & Birdwave. Just like King Stingray and Baker Boy before them, the Andrew Gurruwiwi Band are the next hot musical act to burst out of Arnhem Land.
Indie folk darling Emily Lubitz brings her timeless voice whilst Sam Teskey steps away from his band of brothers to take the centre stage with his new solo project. Woodfordia's Festival of Small Halls feature Canada's celtic fusion stars, Inn Echo along with singer songwriter sweetheart, Sam Buckingham, and those discerning disciples of some of history's all-time great southern, blues, country, gospel, soul and rock bands Sweet Talk present real music by real people!
Comedian Andrew Hansen, best known for his work with The Chaser will join comedian Blogger Jude Perl to bring the laughs.
QMF is an event for all ages and the kids are never forgotten! Added to the line up are podcast superstars The Beanies who join already announced The Bluey Live Interactive Experience and the Teeny Tiny Stevies.
QMF is a weekend-long celebration of live music, family-friendly activities, craft beers and spirits, fine wines, locally sourced gourmet produce and more. The festival's beach setting and picturesque locations attract music lovers from all over the country looking to soak up the laid back vibes and the eclectic mix of music on offer. The festival team are also highly aware of their environmental footprint as an event that sees thousands of people come through each year, and are immensely proud of the 95% of waste they were able to divert from landfill in 2019. The festival was a recipient of a Premiers Sustainability Award for their 2019 efforts.
