Rachel Costanzo Miles Away Interview
Melbourne pop starlet, Rachel Costanzo has released her new single, Miles Away.
With almost three thousand subscribers to her YouTube channel, this talented and vocally mature Melbourne popstar is sure to impress with third single, Miles Away. Co-written and produced by MSquared Productions (Michael Paynter & Michael Delorenzis), the song starts simply with piano and stripped back vocals setting the mood perfectly for this clever, reflective pop number. Building slowly and becoming increasingly lush with dramatic instrumentation, the emotionally charged ballad reveals a new side to Costanzo, all the while showcasing her exceptional vocal range and ability.
Costanzo's two previous singles, Starlight and Blindside are both polished, upbeat pop numbers that received spins on commercial radio around the country, but it is Miles Away that allows her powerful, raw and impressive vocals to create a truly beautiful and timeless pop song. Her delivery is captivating, perfectly capturing the emotion behind the lyrics, with Costanzo explaining, 'I've experienced all kinds of loss in my life and I really wanted to write a song everyone can relate to and feel some sort of peace from within themselves at the end of listening to the song."
The video was shot by Peter John from Epik Films (The Paper Kites Bloom, Michael Paynter Weary Stars) and begins with a young couple frolicking in the woods, clearly smitten with each other and in the early stages of their love. The couple grow older and still appear very much in love, until one day the male figure in the clip unexpectedly has to let her go, leaving the audience to connect with the song in their own unique way.
