Rebecca and Fiona Interview
A shared interest in great music brought the two girls together. Rebecca Scheja and Fiona Fitzpatrick not only reign Sweden's club scene, they have become icons for a whole generation of Swedes and represent what hard work combined with talent can do.
In May 2010 the girls released their first single - Luminary Ones. As 2010 ended, Luminary Ones had become one of the most played songs on national radio P3. In addition to touring the whole of Sweden they followed Robyn as opening act on her European tour.
If that was not enough - Swedish Television followed the girls for several months, which has resulted in their own self-titled tv-show. Wherein you can follow their work as DJs, producers and urban girls.
2011 became an even bigger year for Rebecca & Fiona, they released their double platinum selling single Bullets, the double a side If She Was Away/Hard and the smash single Jane Doe. In November they completed everything by putting out their debut album I Love You, Man. In addition to that they created Turn It Down, their hit collaboration with US DJ superstar Kaskade.
Last year Rebecca & Fiona played over 100 shows all over the world alongside DJs like Tiësto, Kaskade, Axwell and Steve Angello, and 2012 looks like it will be when the girls hit global stardom, already having a month long US tour confirmed.
Don't let their beauty and glamorous public life fool you. Rebecca & Fiona are dedicated musicians who spend more time nailing loops in the basement of their recording studio than to splash champagne at trendy nightclubs. They wouldn't have time anyway, they're too busy killing the dancefloor.

Interview with Rebecca Scheja
Question: How would you describe Luminary Ones?
Rebecca Scheja: Luminary Ones, our first single, was the first thing we ever did and because of that, for us, it's like our baby.
Question: What are you enjoying most about being in Australia?
Rebecca Scheja: We've never been here before so it's very exciting to see the country and experience the different culture in the nightclubs.
Question: What should audiences except from your shows?
Rebecca Scheja: People in Australian haven't heard a lot of our music yet so it's fun to present all of our new music and our sound. We didn't expect much but we're very happy to be in Australia playing our music. Our shows are a lot of fun for us!
Question: What's your inspiration behind your music?
Rebecca Scheja: We take inspiration from a lot of old music and new music as well. We're trying to combine all the music that we like to produce our own genre.
Question: What music/artists do you listen to when you are not playing your own?
Rebecca Scheja: We both listen to a lot of old rock including the 80's and the 90's. We don't have a lot of time to listen to music actually because we spend a lot of time producing our own, right now.
Question: What's next? Tour/Album/Single?
Rebecca Scheja: We are currently working on our next album which will be a little more organic and even more electronic whilst being even slower in the sound picture.
Question: Do you prefer performing live or recording?
Rebecca Scheja: Both! It's hard to say because they both have different sides; we really like them both for different reasons (laughs).
Question: Was there a moment you contemplated throwing in the towel?
Rebecca Scheja: No, never! Never!
Question: What/who was your inspiration to go into the music industry?
Rebecca Scheja: I have been working with music almost my whole life as I went to music school and I have always been doing work surrounding music. I never knew where and how to perform and then I met Fiona and we figured it would be fun to be together and produce; it was natural to be doing, what we are doing now. Although when I was young I had no idea I would be doing this, now.
Question: What is the biggest challenge you have faced along the way to your musical success?
Rebecca Scheja: It's always a challenge and we are trying to become better every day. We are trying to become better producers. It's never been a big challenge but it's always a challenge to continue to up yourself and your music.
Question: What has been your favourite part of becoming a music artist?
Rebecca Scheja: I don't know, everything is fun! It is always fun to travel, be in the studio, produce and perform. The whole experience is very, very fun!
A typical day for us involves travelling; often we wake up and then check out from a hotel and head to the airport where we travel for a couple of hours before checking into another hotel in a new city where we begin to prepare for the night. We'll shower and then go straight to the nightclub and play (hopefully we'll be able to eat something) often then we have three hours sleep and start all over again (laughs)!
Question: If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?
Rebecca Scheja: That's a hard question! We'd love to collaborate with a band because we could use more light elements combined with electronic sounds.
Question: Why did you guys decide to let cameras follow you for your own reality TV show?
Rebecca Scheja: It was more like a documentary following us during summer for the beginning of our career. It was a good way for us to present new music which was a lot of fun although it did take up a lot of time, for us and we probably wouldn't do it again (laughs)!
Question: Do you have a website or social network sites that fans can visit?
Rebecca Scheja: Yes, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram which are all under RebeccaFiona.
