No matter what your size, shape or fitness level, join us for a celebration of women's health as the part of the Ryka Queen of the Lake run/walk on Sunday 15th August 2004 in Melbourne.

Sponsored by female footwear company Ryka, this is an all female fun run/walk around Melbourne's Albert Park Lake. There are the options of a 5 or 10 km run/walk and there will be many spot prizes given away on the day including Ryka shoes and heart rate monitors from Polar.

The event is perfect for those women who have never entered a large scale community event like this and would be too intimidated otherwise. The friendly female atmosphere is great for encouraging first timers and a woman will always be the first across the finish line.

Since 1986 this event has acted as great stepping stone for many women in undertaking a health and fitness program and also as a chance to test themselves against other fitness minded females.

While the motives of participants have varied from those wanting to run a personal best to those simply out for a casual morning stroll, each year the Ryka Queen of the Lake provides the opportunity for women to reach their fitness goals whatever they may be.

This year we are proud to have Ryka, the only footwear company in the world designed exclusively for women, on board as the major sponsor of the event and they will be providing extra incentive to get into their shoes in August.

Women who visit The Athlete's Foot in August, try on a pair of Ryka shoes and mention the Ryka Queen of the Lake will receive a free gift.*(See event website for full terms and conditions.)

Any woman who enters the Ryka Queen of the Lake and purchases a pair of Ryka shoes in August will be given a free Ryka t-shirt to the value of $30. *(See event website for full terms and conditions)

And a registration drive will be held on Friday 30th July at The Athlete's Foot in Collins St between 12 - 1:30 pm where interested females can come and enter on the spot.

Last year nearly 1100 females took part in a morning of fun and fitness and organisers hope that even more will turn out this year for a day out with the girls!
