ACMI presents Screen It 2017

World leader in moving image education ACMI presents Screen It, Australia's premiere moving image competition for students which is now taking registrations for 2017. Open to school-aged students around Australia Screen It fosters the next generation of screen creators across film, animation and video games.

The largest competition of its kind, Screen It entries are guided by an annual theme which is in 2017: Time. Students are encouraged to expand the limits of their imaginations and showcase their new technical skills through their entry which goes in the running for exhibition at ACMI and some great prizes.

To get ideas flowing, camera lights glowing and fingertips coding, ACMI's team of expert Educators provide support to students and teachers via online resources and interactive video link-ups throughout the year.

ACMI's Education Manager, Christine Evely, encourages students and teachers to get involved in 2017.

'We are looking forward to viewing and playing what creative and hard-working young people from around Australia come up with for this year's theme, Time," said Christine.

'Time can stop, go, pause, and be everlasting. It can be once upon a time, long long ago, one day in the future, or parallel. There are just so many angles and possibilities. We wish everyone who enters the best of luck and know they will gain so much from the process – from initial concept to final completion.  We have also created stacks of resources to make the whole process a lot more achievable and satisfying – we are here to help!"

Judged by industry professionals including film and game makers, academics and industry representatives, there are prizes for each category.

At the end of the competition, students, teachers, families and friends are treated to an awards gala at ACMI in Melbourne to celebrate their achievements.
