Shazam Hall of Fame

Shazam Hall of Fame

Compiling some of the biggest hits of Shazam's History, Sony Music has released the very first Shazam Hall of Fame album.

If you're a global music superstar today, how do you measure success? Chart-topping albums? Sold-out world tours? Number of followers on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook?

Yes, all of the above and plenty of talented artists can claim stardom that way. But what if you want more? What happens when fans find your music – and listen again and again, millions upon millions of times?

That's the Shazam effect and if you get it right, you get to be part of a very select group:

The Shazam Hall Of Fame.

In 2014, The Shazam Hall of Fame was created to celebrate songs that have become unprecedented successes, songs that are truly exceptional for the amount of times they have been actively sought out and listened to.

In the first year, only six hits qualified for -legend' status, Shazam's highest accolade reserved for songs with more than 15 million Shazams.

There are other ways for artists to get themselves inducted into the Hall of Fame, though: with 5 MIllion Shazams, you reach -Star' status. Double it to 10 million and you are officially a 'Superstar'.

This release is a celebration of the biggest and best songs from the Shazam Hall of Fame. You'd expect to hear hits from household names – and you'd be correct. But there are also some (relatively) hidden gems. Music that, in true Shazam fashion, you might just discover for the first time.

So put this album on, turn the volume up, and instead of tapping the Shazam button, head over to http://www.shazam.com/hall-of-fame . That's where you can view the full list of tracks big enough to make it into the Shazam Hall of Fame.
