OPENING NIGHT – Thursday, 19th May. Opening night at the Palais Theatre will feature a selection of films representing the different programs being showcased throughout the Festival.
AUSTRALIA'S TOP 100 – Thursday 19th May – Saturday, 28th May. The Top 100 will be showcased across multiple sessions throughout the Festival and will feature a dynamic mix of Australia short films. The prize pool for this program includes a $50,000 prize pool. The Top 100 films will be released next week.
CLOSING NIGHT – Saturday, 28th May. The winner of the Top 100 Short Films will be announced at the closing night of the festival, and will walk away with incredible prizes.
SoundKILDA – Thursday, 26th May. SoundKILDA showcases the country's top creative collaborations, with seventeen clips from local and international musicians created by some of our most talent filmmakers. An official awards ceremony and after party follows on from the presentation.
LOST LAUGHS FROM THE PAST – Monday, 23rd May. St Kilda Film Festival together with National Film and Sound Archive presents a full program of indie comedies from the past.
SHORT BLACK – Wednesday, 25th May. A program that celebrates Indigenous short film, screening a selection of shorts from talented Indigenous directors.
PALM SPRINGS – Saturday 28th May 2016. In partnership with the Palm Springs International ShortFest, a specially curated program from the 2015 festival will be showcased on the last day of the Festival, featuring cultural hit, Discipline, from Switzerland.
FANDOR International Showcase – Sunday, 22nd May. Fandor is an American subscription film service and social-sharing platform. Fandor specialises in independent and international films of all durations from 1895 to the present day. St Kilda Film Festival has worked closely with founder Jonathan Marlow (who is this year an international guest joining the judging panel for the Top 100 Short Film program) to present a hand-picked program of award-winning independent films from across the globe.
