Gold Coast local Talia Rose releases her second single 'Cut My Nails' through independent record label Beets & Bears.
With brooding lyrics and a dark alt-indie touch, Talia Rose follows up from her debut single 'Losing My Mind' with a moody, introspective tune 'Cut My Nails' inspired by a dark time in her life.
"It's hard to explain without losing it, but it was sort of about being lost and on a downward spiral. Last year I was in and out of a pretty toxic relationship with an ex-girlfriend, I was drinking a lot and really struggling to deal with life, that's the PG version anyway," Talia explains.
Born in 2001 in Blenheim New Zealand, Talia grew up performing music with her parents. She competed across New Zealand in country music competitions, winning multiple awards and at only11 years old, Talia was awarded with a trip to Sydney for a session with ARIA-nominated artist Timomatic.
Talia made the move to Australia in 2011, and at only 16 moved out of home. Living on friends' couches, she busked her way from Darwin to Sydney before winding up on the Gold Coast in 2019.
Inspired by the likes of Billie Eilish, Benee and Ariana Grande, Talia continues to build her own sound with strong, soulful vocals and deep atmospheric soundscapes, with plenty of new music on the horizon.
'CUT MY NAILS' is out now on Beets & Bears.
