Growing up in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Tasha was exposed to a contrast of artists ranging from Dean Martin to Elvis Presley to Blink 182 to Shania Twain by her music-loving family. As well as music, gymnastics also played an important role in Tasha's childhood but by age 15 she had signed up for singing lessons - taking the first steps in her professional music career.
Over the next few years Tasha performed mostly local but often, including the Australian and American National Anthems at Rod Laver Arena in 2009 for a Monster Truck Event and taking part in The Telstra Road To Tamworth that same year. 2011 saw Tasha release her debut 4 track EP titled 'I Kinda Like It" and her first trip to Australia's country music capital for the annual January festival.
Returning to Tamworth for this year's festival, the self-confessed on-line shopaholic was named the -Country Winner' in the Australian Country Music Busking Championships, claiming victory over 550 performers. 'Being awarded this title was a great thrill. It was my second year busking at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, so I was extremely happy not only for myself, but for my band who also took the journey with me" says Tasha.
This year also sees the release of her debut album, 'On The Run" which features 11 tracks - nine self-penned and two co-writes. The collection of songs were written over the course of three-four years and recorded throughout 2011. First single and video, -Time To Waste' explores the singer-songwriter's mixed emotions about a relationship and just letting go.
