The Brand New Heavies, one of the '90s most loved soul/ funk bands are back on tour, celebrating 30 years of grooves with THE FUNK IS BACK tour.
Racking up sixteen Top 14 hits and selling over 3 million albums, original band members Sy Bartholemew and Andrew Levy will be joined by singer Angela Ricci
Pioneers of the London Acid Jazz scene, The Brand New Heavies, have been responsible for some of the UK's biggest R&B and soul tracks of the time. They hit the US top 5 singles chart with their hit 'Never Stop' from their self-titled debut album. They continued to gain momentum in the UK and US into the 90s with tracks such as 'Stay This Way', 'Dream on Dreamer' and 'Sometimes' and establishing the Heavies as a musical force. They went on to collaborate with artists such as Grand Puba, Kool G. Rap and Gang Starr's Guru.
Australian fans can expect to hear all their big hits – Dream On Dreamer, Back To Love, Midnight At The Oasis, Sometimes and many more.
Joining The Heavies on tour are the reunited APRA-Awarded acid jazz legends, D.I.G. (Directions In Groove) playing all the great songs from their multiple ARIA Top 10 albums.
