The Godfather Trilogy

The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) in partnership with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presents a rare opportunity to see Francis Ford Coppola's majestic triptych about crime, loyalty and power on the big screen when The Godfather Trilogy screens at ACMI.

A series of special event screenings this September will see each title screen twice from restored 35mm prints direct from the Academy Film Archive in Los Angeles. 

More than a classic film, Coppola's trilogy is a text so steeped in the popular consciousness that it has become emblematic of modern American culture. The cast, a roll-call of Hollywood heavyweights including Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, James Caan and Robert Duvall, delivers some of the screen's most legendary performances.
