The Goldhearts Be Brave Tour

The Goldhearts Be Brave Tour

Waking from a three-year hibernation, The Goldhearts have picked up where their debut album left off, with the electrifying new single Be Brave. The first taste of a forthcoming EP, Be Brave is a stellar addition to the band members' collective discography, which dates back over 20 years, a handful of quintessential albums and literally countless touring miles across the globe. Produced by Govina Doyle (Angus and Julia Stone), Be Brave represents everything contemporary indie rock can be when built on the unshakable foundation of blistering '90s hooks.

If you know your Australian music history, it will be instantly apparent why The Goldhearts have such a knack for the '90s thing. Founded by members of beloved Brisbane band Dream Poppies (with a dash of Razel) The Goldhearts throwback to an era when the sincerity and power of punk rock had been tempered by pop sensibilities and artful songwriting... an era they were a big part of. Fast forward several years and Be Brave transposes the best aspects of this heritage into a modern sound that balances the perfect amount of grungy indie with blissful coastal pop.

A band that screams 'radio', The Goldhearts' 2016 debut album The Rise And Fall Of The Goldhearts racked up quality airtime across Australia, while internationally the band found themselves on Alternative Radio in Japan, France, Spain, Peru, the Netherlands and North America – placing on the FMQB Charts after considerable airplay by the uber-legendary Rodney On The ROQ. With impeccable notches on their belt such as playing SXSW and the immortal CBGBs, it is safe to say each member of The Goldhearts is a veteran in the most flattering sense of the word.

ng that represents and honours those who tough through life's inevitable battles, Be Brave is ultimately a song of triumph over adversity. Swirling in a hurricane of overdriven guitars and thunderous drums, singer Margy Joughin's voice is beautifully up to the task – floating effortless within the signature sound of Tracey Kick (guitar), Daren William (bass) and Claire Harris (drums) working in unison. And this in itself is what makes The Goldhearts so special... their chemistry together. Beyond all else, The Goldhearts are a product of lifelong friendships and true collaboration. This is, and always was, what makes their music utterly timeless. Upcoming shows
