More than 360 young surfers will hit the waves on Sydney's Northern Beaches when Barton Lynch's 2014 Hurley BL Blast Off presented by beecraft surf festival kicks off next month.
Staged across four days from Monday September 22 till Thursday September 25 the hugely popular event will be staged at Whale Beach, Avalon and Palm Beach – with the daily location determined by surf conditions.
The Hurley BL Blast Off surf festival marks the first day of the spring school holidays. 'For groms wanting to improve their surf skills there couldn't be a better way to starts the holidays. I just wish we could accommodate more kids as we have big numbers wanting to take part on wait lists," said event founder/director, and former World Champion Barton, Lynch.
Now in its ninth year, kids 14 years and under (with some surf experience) will take part in the jam-packed four-day surfing festival full of activities, games, competition and coaching. Many of Australia's Surfing greats such as Layne Beachley, Tom Carroll, Rabbit Bartholomew, Damien Hardman, Laura Enever, Harley Ingleby and Terry Richardson – as well as Barton Lynch, all attend the event to support and encourage the participating kids.
