Think you've got what it takes to go from swottie to hottie?

There's a competition. Girlzone magazine is looking for real girls and they'll come to the winning school to do makeovers and a fashion shoot. There's a social to organise and heaps of plans to make, so Aphra and Mimi start a letterbook. That way they can swap ideas without being sprung.

Then, just as everything's happening at school, life at home becomes complicated. There are rules for single-parent dating, but apparently Mimi's mum hasn't heard of them. Aphra looks like losing the plot, too.

Ellie Royce was born in South Australia, but luckily for her, due to her Dad's job, she spent many of her growing up years in Malaysia and Singapore, hanging out with people from all over the planet, not to mention the odd monkey and elephant. Funnily enough, that was when she was reading Enid Blyton's 'Secret Seven' and 'Famous Five' books and wishing for adventures, not realizing that her life was already pretty cool.

She travelled a bit after returning to Australia, grew a bit too, and when she was old enough experimented with many different jobs, from packing coffee and make-up to working in Law. She always has this idea that one days she'd be writing about life so she tried to fir a fair bit in.

Nowadays, she lives on the North Coast of NSQ with her family of four people, three permanent animals and various blow-ins. She writes whenever she had time (and quite often when she should be doing other things). She loves nature, reading writing laughing, music, art and fun.
