Linda Ronstadt is a name familiar with many and one that spans many genres. She is one of the world's best-selling artists of all time.
Celebrating 40 years since she first toured Australia in February 1979 at the time when her "Living In the USA" album was riding high, Linda charmed audiences for the first time at Perth's Subiaco Oval before selling out around the country including the iconic MCG.
Linda's voice and naive sex appeal have sold her in excess of 100 million records globally.
She has released over 30 studio albums, is the winner of 11 Grammys, three American Music Awards and one Emmy Award.
She charted 38 Billboard Hot 100 singles and has collaborated with artists in diverse genres including - Bette Midler, Frank Zappa, Warren Zevon, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, Neil Young, Paul Simon and Johnny Cash.
In 2019, acclaimed singer/songwriter, Bloom, brings the music of Linda Ronstadt to life with an incredible band featuring some of Australia's most respected musicians.
Expect to hear tracks that made up the 1979 tour set list including timeless hits as Blue Bayou, When Will I Be Loved, It's So Easy, When Something Is Wrong With My Baby, That'll Be The Day, Just One Look, Back In The U.S.A, Poor Poor Pitiful Me and many more.
Constantly feeling she was born in to the wrong generation, for Bloom, this tour is as personal as it gets.
Bloom has a feverish connection with the decades of the 60's and 70's and has a strong urge to bring Linda Ronstadt and the music that is her legacy to the future generations, embracing and reinvigorating Linda's rich musical history and the architecture she has left on the music industry.
It is widely known that Linda was forced to retire from singing in 2009 as a result of Parkinson's disease. Subsequently, Bloom is lending her voice with this tour to help raise awareness of Parkinson's disease supporting the Shake It Up Australia Foundation's quest to find a cure - a foundation that is partnered with The Michael J. Fox Foundation. Bloom joins the likes of Television presenter Liz Cantor, TV personality Sally Obermeder and fellow artist Peter Byrne (Neil Diamond performer) as an official ambassador for the foundation and will utilise her shows to raise funds for the foundation.
"I am very honoured to be an ambassador for Shake It Up Australia," says Bloom. "I not only get to perform the songs of one of my all-time favourite artists, Linda Ronstadt, but at the same time raise funds and awareness for Parkinson's disease in a hope to find better treatments and ultimately a cure for Australian's and their families living with Parkinson's".
Bloom has had heads turning and has been gaining International critical acclaim with her effortless soulful vocal resonance of power vocalists Adele and Amy Winehouse with her Adele & Amy Songbook tour.
