The Soul Movers If I Could Ever Tour

Last month the Soul Movers released their album Bona Fide but they were saving something special for last. If I Could Ever is the track that had legendary players the "Swampers" (collaborators of The Black Keys, The Rolling Stones, and Aretha Franklin) as well as live audiences across the country – instantaneously breaking into a boogie.

The Sydney-based rockin' soul and funky pop band features Lizzie Mack on lead vocals and ex-Red Wiggle and ARIA Hall of Famer Murray Cook on guitar with Marco Simec (keys) Andy Newman (bass) and Stu Wilson (drums).

Just like their new friends the Swampers, the Soul Movers are passionate about their right to make music until they drop. They believe that since the population is aging and there is a massive middle-aged audience that wants to hear and see stories and music that reflects themselves, they are hot property!

"The Soul Movers sure have a few miles on their musical dials but from what I saw tonight they are going for it like any young band with a new album out would… it's bloody fantastic to see and hear" says Greedy Smith from Australian band Mental As Anything.

Murray Cook frequently gets mobbed for selfies after shows by twenty-somethings who are original Wiggles fans. They say they are inspired seeing someone they admire doing what they love well into middle age. A road warrior with decades under his belt, and as many shows down as The Rolling Stones, he naturally has no plans to stop anytime soon.

"It's great to see heritage acts out there - and we happily support them. When The Soul Movers play we get heaps of people from 20-70 years of age coming up to us after the show raving about how much they loved it", says Murray. "They say how great it is to see people OUR age really going for it onstage. They love the music and they really love seeing us play our hearts out in the show."

Finally, none of The Soul Movers photos or clips have been "stretched" improved or retouched. They proudly show smile lines and skin that has lived many sunny decades as adults, and the themes in their songs and clips reflect this longer view of life.

"We believe that music, as an art form, does that looking back and reflecting in a more personally powerful way than any other" says lead singer, Lizzie. "It's very appropriate that older people with life experience have something to say in this art form. Think of music without Tony Bennett, Billie Holiday... all those real and relevant voices communicate if not more passionately about life and how to survive it."

Described in reviews as modern soul incarnate, If I Could Ever is a cool mix of soul, funk and original rhythm and blues.
