The Ten Food Commandments

Jay Rayner will perform his one-man show The Ten (Food) Commandments in Brisbane on May 21 and in Melbourne on May 24.

Rayner is the controversial food critic who has three-star Michelin chefs quaking in their boots. For proof, see his latest, incredibly scathing review of Le Cinq in Paris' Four Seasons Hotel George V here, which he calls 'by far the worst restaurant experience I have endured in my 18 years in this job". In it he describes the gratinated onions as cooked 'in the Parisian style, mostly black, like nightmares, and sticky, like the floor at a teenager's party."

The show he is bringing to Australia, The Ten (Food) Commandments, is a series of thought-provoking and very, very funny rules to eat by, from celebrating the stinky to worshipping leftovers and his hatred of people putting food on anything that isn't a plate. While here, Jay will also be discussing My Dining Hell over a lunch at the Sofitel in Melbourne, a brilliant Penguin Special based on 20 of his lousiest restaurant experiences.
