Some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the Southern Hemisphere is now closer than ever thanks to eight of New Zealand's top independent ski fields joining forces.

Independent ski field operators at Cardrona Alpine Resort, Treble Cone, Snowpark, Snowfarm, Ohau, Mt Dobson, Roundhill and the Porters Ski Area are offering visitors OnePassNZ, an interchangeable pass that gives skiers and snowboarders unprecedented access to the partner ski areas.

The pass – which can be loaded with snow dollars - will provide skiers and snowboarders access to a massive 2230 hectares of combined lift-serviced terrain, including the largest and tallest ski areas in New Zealand that are praised internationally for their freestyle skiing.

Additionally, pass holders will be able to rent ski gear and pay for skiing and snowboarding lessons, meaning there's no need to travel laden down with heavy gear if you don't want to., and also offers tourists access to some of the South Island's biggest adventure attractions.

Treble Cone Marketing Manager Nigel Kerr says OnePassNZ is the only thing keen visitors to New Zealand's beautiful South Island need for a fun-filled holiday.

'The pass is designed to make a winter skiing and adventure holiday in New Zealand both simple and affordable. Any Australian looking for an action-packed but hassle-free winter holiday can't go wrong with a OnePassNZ," he says.

'It gives visitors from Australia the ultimate flexibility and freedom of choice and allows them to travel with confidence, plus it lets them enjoy everything the central South Island has to offer, not just great skiing."

OnePassNZ can also be used at some of New Zealand's most popular attractions such as the Shotover Jet, Canyon Swing and Skyline Gondola in Queenstown, as well as local hospitality and services.

'There's nothing quite like New Zealand in the winter and this pass allows visitors to take in all of the wonderful skiing and adventure activities that the central South Island has to offer," says Mr Kerr.

'It also means visitors can travel at their own pace – they can decide to stay in one spot longer if they want, or move on if conditions in the area they're in take a turn."

OnePassNZ gives visitors access to the best skiing and snowboarding the country has, including the longest runs in the South Island at over 4kms, the only two permanent superpipes in New Zealand and the most comprehensive children's programmes and facilities.
