Tones & I The Kids Are Coming EP

Australian artist Tones And I has released her debut EP The Kids Are Coming, available now on all streaming platforms on Bad Batch Records via Sony Music Entertainment Australia [artwork / track list below]. The EP is led by Tones And I's international smash ' Dance Monkey ', which has made a massive global impact amassing over 100 million streams to date, with 80 million in the last month alone, as well as being #1 on the Shazam Australia Top 200 and #4 on the Global Top 200! Since first releasing music back in March of this year, Tones has amassed an outstanding 140 million streams across all songs – an incredible feat for a debut artist!

"The Kids Are Coming is about how old minded people think that the youth of today are constantly on their phones and consumed by social media," explains Tones. "But really, the kids of today stand for community, celebrate gay pride, they are trying to stamp out racism, stop Adani, repair The Great Barrier Reef and many more. It's more than just a song, it's a movement. I truly believe that the youth of today have the power to change the world."

Originally from Australia's Mornington Peninsula, Tones And I traveled to Byron Bay in early 2018 to take a chance at busking. On the first day she had crowds spilling onto the street. Tones quit her retail job and decided to make Byron her new home where she lived out of her van for a year, honing her songwriting and busking every weekend. Today, Tones And I's 'Dance Monkey' is receiving over 20 million streams a week, with the ARIA accredited 2x platinum single reaching #1 on streaming service charts around the world. Currently the fastest rising song on the UK's Official Singles Chart, 'Dance Monkey' also sits at #1 on the ARIA singles chart for a record-breaking fourth straight week, and holding off international heavy weights making her the first solo female artist in over ten years to hold the #1 spot for four consecutive weeks.

The Kids Are Coming EP also features the ARIA accredited gold single 'Never Seen The Rain', and breakout single 'Johnny Run Away ', which Tones And I originally uploaded to triple j's 'Unearthed', an artist discovery platform for independent music. Within twelve hours the song was on triple j's airwaves with hosts calling it a 'Hottest 100' contender. This past March 'Johnny Run Away' became the most played song on Australia's triple j Radio for two weeks straight, racing to ARIA accreditation of platinum.

This September Tones And I will embark on a sold-out Australian headline tour which is set to kick off on September 13th at Adelaide's Lion Arts Factory, and continue through mid-October. The Australian dates, which sold-out in minutes, will see Tones And I performing multiple nights at 800 capacity venues around the country. Later this fall, Tones And I will head overseas for her first ever European headline tour, which includes sold-out shows in Cologne (11/8) and London (11/15). Additional dates include a second London show on November 16th as well as stops in Berlin, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, with only a handful of tickets remaining [see itinerary below]. The headline dates come hot on the heels of Tones And I's record setting performance at Australia's Splendour In The Grass Festival, where she drew the largest crowd ever for an opening act with 20,000 fans arriving to watch her midday set. triple j remarked on the performance attesting, "Tones And I has put Australian music on notice.
