Vibe Check, written by playwright Greta Doell, explores the heart-wrenching YET fun YET nauseating
world of casual dating and all the embarrassing moments that happen along the way.
About the show:
Beth and Harry are just trying to figure each other out. Some call it the 'honeymoon' phase. Others call it
the 'awkward' phase. Whatever the label (or lack thereof) it's always going to be interesting. It's the stuff
no one speaks about: the bedroom embarrassments, neuroticism, drama, hilarity and hiccups along the
way.
But is all this chaos worth the risk of putting yourself out there?
Vibe Check explores a young couple's hilarious stumble through the awkward "are we? aren't we?" stage
of casual dating, as they desperately try to keep their cool whilst figuring out what the hell is going on
between them. But "All good, no pressure!" They just need a Vibe Check.
With the help of emerging director Stephanie Lee, Freya Patience (Beth) and Oscar Morphew (Harry) are
of the play and venue complement each other perfectly to create this lovely, warm and fuzzy show.
After two years of isolation and disconnect, Vibe Check offers an almost too realistic depiction of those
awkward 'are we on the same page' conversations we've all had before. Watch these hilarious characters
go under the microscope in this original story of genuine human connection.
