Perth photographer, Steve Wise, is the 2010 Epson AIPP Western Australian Professional Photographer of the Year ('WAPPY').
The Awards are held annually by the Western Australian division of Australia's leading professional photography industry body, the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP).
Competing against more than 86 of the state's best photographers who submitted a total of 139 folios, Steve will walk away with more than $2000 for his stunning images. In addition to the Professional Photographer of the Year award, Steve will also be awarded the 2010 AIPP Western Australian Wedding Photographer of the Year.
Award categories include portrait, landscape, commercial, illustrative, and wedding photography. There are additional categories for Student Photographer of the Year as well as an Emerging Photographer Award. In 2010 additional categories included Portrait (Family) and Wedding Album.
Recognised leaders in the industry facilitated the judging process including visiting photographers Adam Finch (Brisbane), Kylie Lyons (New South Wales), Ian van der Wolde (Victoria) and Andrew and Robyn Campbell (Victoria).
The Epson WAPPAs are a celebration of photographic excellence and represent the best of the best in the state's professional photography. 2010 Category Winners are:

Founded in 1963, the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) is a not-for-profit organisation run voluntarily for and by professional photographers and industry representatives who seek to set a standard of excellence within the photographic industry. The AIPP strives to promote and maintain the highest standards of professional competence and business ethics in the industry. By maintaining rigorous entry criteria and a binding Code of Ethics for members, as well as providing ongoing education via seminars, workshops and events, the AIPP is a brand of trust in the photographic industry. AIPP Committees represent members on important issues such as copyright; taxation, legal and business matters; insurance; digital imaging and work practices.
