THE WORLD'S BIGGEST BACKYARD IS COMING!
Landcom and the Department of Planning launch the Western Sydney Parklands Ideas Competition for your ideas
Imagine you get to build the biggest and best park in the world! How would you do it? What would you put in it? A huge slide? A massive maze? Secret paths to explore or places just to hang out? Landcom and The Department of Planning want you to tell us your ideas and have the chance to win your school prizes up to $2,500.
In the middle of Western Sydney is an area of land that will become the largest City Park in the world. On the edges of this park are two areas which will become places for new homes and places for people to work. We are seeking kids help in making this land become the best park and area to live and work in the world. To do this, we need your ideas.
The Western Sydney Parklands Ideas Competition opened on Sunday 16th October and will run until 25th November. An awards ceremony will take place in mid December where the winning students will be presented with certificates from one of the judges, including Clean Up Australia's Ian Kiernan.
Get together with a group of friends or tell your teachers to enter your class and start being creative. Ideas should include a drawing and a description of what it is and why you think it would be a good idea.
A dedicated website at
www.westernsydneyparklands.com.au sets out the full details of the competition. Submissions can be scanned and lodged electronically through the Competition website or posted.
Come on, help us make our Park the best in the world!
