Brisbane band Grand Atlantic recorded their new album, Constellations over the space of twelve days in an abandoned psychiatric hospital near Dunedin, New Zealand. With the aid of producer Dale Cotton the band felt there was a sense of strangeness and unease in the air, which informs the recording. Lead singer and guitarist Phil Usher said there were a "few strange experiences while we were there - hearing voices during takes, strange sounds, and we saw things like the microphone stand move when no one was near".

This November, triple j's Ausmusic Month will once again pay tribute to one of this country's musical greats. This year triple j pays tribute to the one and only Nick Cave. With a career spanning 35 years, Cave is one of the true greats of music. Starting with Boys Next Door and then The Birthday Party, Cave has gone on to make 14 albums with The Bad Seeds and two more with Grinderman. He has been both incredibly prolific and consistently brilliant. He and his bands have been the most continually played artists on triple j across those three decades. Constant appearances in Hottest 100's speak volumes of Nick Cave's relevancy to new generations of music fans.

Returning to the amazing Kuranda Amphitheatre, where it all began, Reggaetown 2012 is set to unleash their 10th Anniversary Festival on September 1st. Situated 27kms north-west of the City of Cairns, altitude 300 metres in the village of Kuranda, the amphitheatre is set amidst rainforest and adjacent to the World Heritage areas of Barron Falls National Park.
Announcing the first installment of the artist line up. There will be fresh new bands to spice up the mix and others returning in high demand.
