Australian singing sensation Jade MacRae and popular hip-hop artist Phrase will perform a special gig at The Star's live music bar, Rock Lily, on Friday 25 May.

The husband and wife duo will headline the third instalment in a series of Rock Lily 'Check Your Head' R&B hip hop nights, previously headlined by Daniel Merriweather, Tim O Matic and Jessica Mauboy.

The performance will feature a collection of their hits in a unique and intimate setting, including those from Phrase's ARIA nominated third album, Babylon.

Also performing on the night will be DJ Kitsch, Suite Az with special guests Femme Da Funk and DJ Samrai with entertainment beginning at 7pm. MC Rodney O will also be entertaining the crowd with prize giveaways.

More than 32,000 young Australians will sleep on the street tonight. Tragically, young people between 12-18 years old make up the largest demographic experiencing homelessness.

As the nights get bitter, Bondi based organisation, Hoot & Howl are proud to present a charity gig aimed to warm the heart and soul of those who are feeling the cold. 'Winter Warmers' the fundraiser will be held at the Beach Road Hotel, Bondi on Saturday June 30, 2012, from 6pm-Midnight. Tickets are $15 in advance from www.moshtix.com.au and $20 on the door. $5 from every Winter Warmers ticket sold goes to 21 Challenge/Open Family Australia, supporting homeless youths at risk.

James Morrison is, by anybody's standard, a virtuoso in the true sense of the word. Besides the trumpet, this multi-instrumentalist also plays trombone, euphonium, flugel horn, tuba, saxophones, double bass and piano. One of the legends of jazz he's performed with Dizzy Gillespie, Cab Calloway, Woody Shaw, Red Rodney, George Benson, Ray Charles, B.B. King, Ray Brown and Wynton Marsalis to name a few. There were also gigs in the world's most famous jazz clubs - The Blue Note and Village Vanguard in New York, the New Morning in Paris and Ronnie Scotts in London. Royal command performances on two occasions for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and for US Presidents Bush & Clinton at Parliament House in Australia. In 1997, James was recognised for his service to the arts in Australia and awarded a medal of The Order of Australia.
