Yolki – The Final Countdown, a festive winter comedy following the lives of five separate players and their pursuit of happiness, will screen at Event Cinemas in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth this August as a part of a monthly film series by The Russian Resurrection Film Festival.
This must-see family comedy from Timur Bekhmambetov follows characters from five separate, yet interlinked stories; a friend moving away, a McDonald's salesgirl losing the man of her dreams, a man trying to propose to the woman of his dreams and a widowed pensioner seeking forgiveness from his son. This fun holiday romp is filled with quirky yet hilarious adventures.
The screening is a part of a series of film screenings The Russian Resurrection Film Festival have been presenting at Event Cinemas over the last few months. Each month has featured a new Russian blockbuster aimed at introducing audiences to films they'd not likely see anywhere else.
Russian Film Festival Director Nicholas Maksymow said "We're really pleased to be able bring something a bit lighter and fun to audiences in Australia this month with the eccentric family comedy Yolki – The Final Countdown. The film explores the simple things in life like true friendship and love and shows that for all of life's problems, an adventure is not far behind."
The Russian Resurrection Film Festival is one of the largest, oldest and most respected film festivals outside of Russia. Running across November in capital cities all over Australia, the Festival aims to bring the freshest, most groundbreaking Russian cinema to Australian shores.
