City vs Country
Polo Festival of Fun

A tradition held by many at Easter time, is to visit Dinner Plain in the Victorian High Country and take part in the Geebung Polo match.

Based on an Australian tradition, and ingrained culturally by the poem 'The Geebung Polo Club' written by AB 'Banjo' Patterson the event brings two life long rivals head-to-head in a polo play off.

Occuring annually for the past 24 years in the Victorian Alps, the match of strength and bravery originated from a 'few quiet drinks' at the Dinner Plain Hotel. A mix of wild country blokes formed the institution known as the 'Geebung Polo Club' rivalling the City Slickers 'Cuff N' Collar' Polo team.
