Harry Potter Wand Combat Masterclass

For the first time in Australia, Paul Harris, the world famous wand combat choreographer known for his work on the Harry Potter films, will teach wand combat choreography masterclasses in Melbourne's Harry Potter at Myer store this month.

Melbournian Wizarding World fans will be able to take part in the free, wand combat choreography masterclasses with Paul Harris at Myer Melbourne between Friday 20th March and Sunday 22nd March.

The masterclasses will allow aspiring witches or wizards to live out their dreams in a spell binding 45-minute workshop that will be full of tips and tricks no one will want to miss. "I'm so excited to be teaching Aussie Harry Potter fans the unique techniques that I taught the Harry Potter cast while filming the iconic film franchise. There's a true craft to wand combat chorography and I can't wait to see Melbournians moves" said Paul.

Attendees will learn what it takes to recreate the wand combat sequences in the Harry Potter films, while seeing how Paul brought wand magic to life in his choreography throughout the movies.

Masterclass participants will be taken through the same steps the cast learnt when using their wands for the first time in the films and upon successful completion of the class will receive a wand combat certificate.

The masterclass series will be hosted at Myer Melbourne, which is also home to the Harry Potter at Myer concept store. Harry Potter at Myer opened in October 2019 and is Australia's largest Harry Potter concept store. The 500sqm space holds the widest range of Wizarding World inspired collectibles including toys, gifts, stationery, costumes, homewares and apparel, as well as exclusive features such as the iconic Platform Nine and Three-Quarters photo opportunity.

Wand Combat Choreography Masterclass Schedule:
• Friday 20th March – 12pm, 3pm, 6pm
• Saturday 21st March – 11am, 2pm, 4.30pm
• Sunday 22nd March – 11am, 2pm

The Wand Combat Choreography masterclasses will be held at Myer Melbourne Basement level, next to the Harry Potter at Myer store. Participants are required to bring their own wand or can purchase one from the Harry Potter at Myer store before the class commences.
