Kokkinakis and Local Kids On Court

Fun and fitness will be in full swing as the newly refurbished Malvern Tennis Centre (MTC) officially reopens on Sunday March 17th. The free community Open Day will provide tennis hopefuls the perfect opportunity to practice under the watchful eye of young Aussie tennis ace, Thanasi Kokkinakis.

If you are interested in picking up a racquet, lob in to the friendly, social and relaxed Open Day for a free tennis lesson with Kokkinakis or one of the high performance MTC coaches.

Little Fun Day goers can have a shot at ANZ Hot Shots – a program designed to help every child, no matter their age or ability to start playing tennis. While adults can battle it out on court with free tennis lessons suitable for all ages, tailored to individual needs.

And, when it's game. set. match there will be entertainment around the courts for young and old alike including Kokkinakis heading exhibition matches. Parents can escape to the chill-out zone, while there will be a jumping castle, giant games, playground equipment for the kids to enjoy plus plenty of prizes to be won.

A snapshot of the full range of tennis programs served up for all ages and stages at the Malvern Tennis Centre include: Kids programs include Junior Pathway, Tennis in Schools, Matchplay, Holiday Clinics and Squads. While adults can choose from the highly energized, music fuelled group FitBit Cardio Tennis workout, Coach & Play, Adult Beginner, Improver, Intermediate or advanced classes. Alternatively, for those with a competitive streak a variety of competition level sessions are also available - ladies & men's doubles/singles, Davis Cup, Fast 4 Mixed doubles and social doubles.

The Malvern Tennis Centre . . .will re-open with state-of-the-art program offerings as well as facilities including five recently resurfaced synthetic grass courts, club rooms, café and a playground adjacent to the courts. The coaching team of certified tennis professionals is skilled at teaching kids and adults, and will be led by Stonnington Tennis Centre's Director of Tennis, AJ Muscillo. AJ is a high performance awarding winning level 3 coach – the only tennis coach in the Stonnington area boasting the highest coaching qualification available in Australia!
