Urban party outfit Applebum are thrilled to announce they have a new home in Sydney at The World Bar, bringing their hip-hop house party vibes and a cohort of Sydney's finest DJs to the iconic Kings Cross institution every Thursday night. Across the remainder of The World Bar's renewed weekly programming, next month sees a stellar lineup of premier Australian talent takeover the venue including pop and R&B sensation Maribelle, rising pop prodigy Eilish Gilligan plus UK production and DJ unit Stooki Sound and many more.
 
Following a twenty-month residency at Oxford Art Factory and fresh from a stint of European festival gigs including Ibiza Rocks & Croatia's Yacht Week, every Thursday catch the UK's biggest hip-hop club night Applebum descending on The World Bar to deliver bangin' beats, fresh vibes and a celebration of hip-hop and R&B. Expect to hear throwbacks to the greats, from Aaliyah to Missy Elliott, Nas, TLC and Tupac, to modern legends including Drake, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna, plus your favourite deep cuts and future classics.
 
Satisfying mid-week ravers with a love for bass music, The Wall promises a thumping month with a stacked bill featuring local and international heavyweights. Sydney trap/grime producer High Choir makes his debut live performance on 8 August, following the recent release of his first single 'Who Do You Think I Am', joined by local queen of underground garage, heavy bass and trap, Emma Bass. London-based powerhouse duo Stooki Sound make their grand Australian return, bringing their blend of UK bass, hip-hop and trap to The World Bar on 22 August, plus more to be announced via Facebook.

 

Otto's House Party makes an emphatic return in August with live music showcases and DJ sets from the country's hottest rising talents. Perth indie-punk quartet Sly Withers kick things off on Friday 3 August, backed up by an Ultra Cult takeover on 10 August that will pair tropical, glitch electronica with sassy electro-pop starring Clypso and Muki respectively. Singing, songwriting, producing triple-threat Maribelle launches her latest single 'I'm a Mess Without You' on 17 August, with guests including MC and poet Nardean on support, and is followed by the launch for pop songwriter Eilish Gilligan's latest spectral single 'Patterns'. Sydney collective Coven Presents are rounding out the month with a takeover on 30 August led by the stunning sounds of Newcastle's FRITZ.

 
The High Priest of Celebration is back for another month of pure groove, Ricardo's bringing the late-night vibes to the dance floor every Saturday night. Expect thumping techno and euphoric house when Francis Xavier and Unknown Associates hit the decks on 4 August, followed by a night of big beats with CSMNT61 and party jam specialist Chloe on 11 August. Purveyor of funky house and tech Neon Ivy will lead the charge on 18 August, plus more to be announced in coming weeks.
 
Over the last 18 years, Kings Cross stalwart The World Bar has thrown some of Sydney's most renowned club nights and live music events. The venue's rich history includes infamous sets featuring Australia's highly-regarded electronic artists from Ajax to FlumeAlison Wonderland and Nina Las Vegas, plus unforgettable live performances including DZ DeathraysGang of Youths and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, who helped pave the way for a seminal period in Sydney's live music and nightlife timeline.
