After its debut last year, SNOWTUNES Music Festival is set to return on September 3rd, 2016. With internationally acclaimed stage and production designers creating a spectacular and eye-popping show, the festival is presented by Phoenix Entertainment Live, bringing with them over forty years of experience in the live entertainment industry, previously having worked on events such as the Sydney Festival and The Rolling Stones tour.
SNOWTUNES is an 18+ event set on the pristine shores of Lake Jindabyne, at the base of thepopular alpine resorts Thredbo and Perisher, in the heart of the Snowy Mountains, NSW.
Australia's only music festival offering snow-goers the ultimate snow party experience with some of Australia's hottest artists set to perform, SNOWTUNES 2016 includes the epic sounds of What So Not, the world's first time travelling party, Hot Dub Time Machine, who is fresh off of his sold-out Australian Tour, and Brisbane based indie rock favourites Ball Park Music.
"Can't wait to hit the slopes with you all this season. Looking forward to this very special show in Jindabyne" – What So Not.
'I'm really excited to play at Snowtunes. Hot Dub always goes really great at the snow: it's about good music and partying, just like a night out in Jindy." – Tom Loud, Hot Dub Time Machine
Joining What So Not, Hot Dub Time Machine and Ball Park Music will be Sydney's electronic producer Kilter delivering all the fresh vibes, Tassie's own singer/songwriter Asta and the party bass beats from Sydney DJ Hydraulix.
Triple JJJ Unearthed artists will also be featured including Savilian, One Day Apart, Soul Benefits, IVY, Timmy Will as well as local artist Deejay Ox adding to the musical diversity.
SNOWTUNES have a primary objective in generating opportunities for the local economy in the snowy mountains and bringing first time skiers & snowboarders to the region.
Chartered buses have been arranged from Canberra, Berridale, Cooma and Queanbeyan and are available when a SNOWTUNES ticket is purchased.
A new partnership for the event this year is Hamilton's Hospitality who, with over 20 years experience in managing hospitality at festivals such as Groovin The Moo, will be running the licence and bar operations.
Also proudly supporting SNOWTUNES 2016 are Redbull, Diageo, Snowy Mountains Tourism, Snowy River Shire, Thredbo Ski Resorts and OZ Snow Travel.
'While the region is well recognized as a winter ski destination, the perception is that it has little to offer people outside of skiing and snowboarding. The opportunity exists to develop further winter activities, experiences and special events and the plan for SNOWTUNES is for it to become a long-term showcase activity, not only for Jindabyne but also the Snowy Mountains region" says Neil Thew, Tourism Snowy Mountains.
Doors open at 2pm. Tickets start at $89.95. For further information on SNOWTUNES and ticketing visit www.snowtunes.com.au.
