Sweet Gold Announce Tour And Release New Single

Sweet Gold was born on Valentine's Day, in the deluxe spa suite of the Olsen Hotel in Melbourne, under a full moon, with a glass of champagne in one hand and a rose in the other. The quintet have been shooting Cupid's bow into the ears and hearts of lovers ever since.

Their sound draws upon garage, soul and rock n roll, with a palette that ranges from The Ronettes to The Ramones. Imagine Iggy Pop with The Jam doing Beatles covers on New Years Eve 1977 at CBGB and you're close. It's dangerous, but so is love.

The band's latest offering, 'We Could Feel The Same' is direct and to the point, drawing on the template left by Lennon "don't bore us - get to the chorus" this song has no verses. Alternating between weighty stabs and a driving chorus, there's no let up until the delicate middle eight asks the real questions. Glorious harmonies make you wish everyone could feel like this forever.

Following the release of their all analogue, debut recording Love Songs Till Midnight the band have been building to a climax playing shows with the likes of Press Club, The Bennies, Gyroscope, and touring with Forever Unclean (Denmark) and many more local legends all over the country. It's not uncommon to see people slow dancing in the front, throwing roses from the back, blowing kisses from the side, or being serenaded by The Lease Holder of Lust himself: frontman Mike "meet me in bed" Tea. By the end of the show you'll know all of the words and you can sing them to your sweetheart on the moonlit walk home.

The forthcoming full-length release, Here's To Feeling Good All The Time features more of the bands signature short, hook driven, heart throb, garage pop. Recorded at Goatsound Studios, the band rehearsed meticulously to lay down the bed tracks live to tape. An important part of the band's ethos is to sound as close to the live show as possible, because honesty is the best policy.Here's To Feeling Good All The Time was engineered by the legendary Jason Fuller (Blood Duster) and mastered by sonic wizard Alan Douches (Fleetwood Mac, Ben Folds Five, Converge, Misfits). It's a triumphant collection of songs about love and lust, heartbreaks and hip shakes, exotic destinations and butterflies in your chest.
