Central Coast duo Winterbourne are on a roll this year, first dropping their new single 'Take The Golden' then announcing their first Australian live dates for 2019. Now James Draper and Jordan Brady unveil the video for single 'Take The Golden'.
Directed by McLean Stephenson, the creative behind videos for City Calm Down, Sarah Blasko and Bad Dreems plus album covers for DMA's, DZ Deathrays and Polish Club, encouraged Winterbourne to step out of their comfort zone for their new clip.
McLean Stephenson explains, "We shot the video in a disused, rat infested warehouse on the outskirts of town. I kept the crew small so the band would feel comfortable getting a bit loose, which they did. The band (or management) bought tequila. We laughed a lot. It was one of those productions that went fast and well."
Winterbourne says, "Our director McLean Stephenson pushed us to be strange, and completely freed us up to do whatever we wanted while at the same time forcing us out of our comfort zones. It was an intense and sweaty day, which we think perfectly sums up the madness of the track. The guys did such an incredible job at putting our ridiculous movements together and we couldn't be happier with it."
'Take The Golden', which premiered on triple j Good Nights, has already been added to playlists such as Spotify's Indie Arrivals and New Music Friday as well as Apple's A-List Alternative.
'Take The Golden' and debut single 'Better' will be available on Winterbourne's much awaited debut album which will be released this year.
