New Australian talent BJ Caruana's debut single, the infectious disco-tinged Dance All Night, is an instantly enjoyable slice of pure pop pleasure!
"What I love about "Dance All Night" is that it's very, very difficult not to enjoy," BJ says. "And what I really want is for people to like it. That is good music as far as I'm concerned - music that makes people want to dance or that makes people want to turn up the volume when it comes on the radio."
As a teenager, BJ - born Rebecca-Jane, to an R&B guitarist/vocalist father and a jazz nightclub singer and mother-was a clear audience favourite on TV talent show Star Search. When she belted out the big pop ballads by the likes Gloria Estefan and Taylor Dayne, audiences were enthralled.
In the new millennium- for a mature BJ, who now co-writes her own songs - absolutely nothing has changed.
"Dance All Night" is the first release from the new label Destinova Records and was written by BJ in collaboration with label owner and prolific songwriter/producer Ashley Cadell.
"Dance All Night" is the first taste of BJ and Ashley's efforts - and a lavish piece of dance-pop, which did something very special for the excitable signer. "I've spent a lot of time in nightclubs, and you know a great song when it comes on because it kind of takes you away," she says. "Well, in the studio recording "Dance All Night", it took me off to another place."
"Now it's time to let it go and hope it has that impact on other people. I'll know that it's worked if someone is on a dancefloor somewhere and it makes them want to dance, makes them forget where they are and just gets them lost in the music. That, to me, is true success."
