Emma Bunton

Emma Bunton
Emma Bunton (a.k.a. Baby Spice) is a superstar!

The solo effort with the song "What Took You So Long" debuted Emma at Number One on the UK Charts. While her debut solo single "What Am I" debuted on the UK charts at Number Two.

The girl has come a long way since coming to prominence through the Band, "Spice Girls". Emma's debut album "A Girl Like Me" has also performed strongly.

With almost every step they take the various members of the Spice Girls shatter records in their wake. Emma becomes the fourth Spice Girl to top the chart away from the band, following nicely in the footsteps of Melanie C, Melanie B and Geri Halliwell. No other chart-topping act has seen as many as four of their members go on to similar solo success.

Prior to this, The Beatles held the record but only John, Paul and George have had solo number one hits. For the moment Ringo Starr's best ever solo performance is Back Off Boogaloo which reached number two in 1972. Meanwhile the nation waits for Victoria Beckham to top the charts in her own right.

In a recent interview, Emma discussed how the "Spice Girls" was a great learning experience to her. Emma stated that "Being able to travel the world with the girls was an amazing experience and also a real learning experience because I picked up so many different cultures, different sounds, met different people and that has definitely". The music on the new album however has a unique sound, with Emma's own strengths and the experience she gains whilst working with the Spice Girls.
