When did you realise that music was your passion? I was brought up in a very musical background so music has always been there, but I was 14 when I knew that it was for life.

How many years have you been performing? I have been doing solo original performances with an acoustic guitar for about 2 years now, but all up I have been playing live music for 5 years.

Do you write your own material?

Yes! I have been writing heaps of songs over the last two years. Most of my material is written about my personal experience of life, be it love, politics, or just how things change. I write about a lot of topics, but what inspires me most is the notion that we are all amazing people, here on earth for a unique reason. I am here to spread this message and to help give people a better understanding of themselves and why they are here.

Have you found the Internet to be helpful/useful in fast-tracking your music career?

Absolutely. I have been in contact with businesses and record companies both interstate and internationally now. It blows my mind how much the industry has changed, the world seems a lot smaller and more inviting. Internet is definitely a major player in any business today.

In following your dream, who has helped you along the way?

Starting with my family of course, who are amazing people, mainly this dream is becoming a reality, hard work, discipline and from my manager's belief, understanding and guidance. Also everyone I've ever played in a band with has taught me how I could always do it on my own.

Is there anything you wish you could change about the music industry?

It's not a perfect world (just yet ha ha) but I hope someday the music industry will focus more on the music itself and less on the image of the artist. It's also very hard to break an artist with a new style when the industry wants to be able to pigeonhole the artist as like "Matchbox Twenty" or like "Christina Aguilera" when the artist is something new.

What advice can you offer to other budding young artists?

Follow your heart. Advice of any kind is great but ultimately; you know what feels right for you. Love and believe in yourself, this is something that only you can truly do. Other people in the industry can help you get there, but it is your passion, so you must be the most confident person in order for people to be convinced. Lastly, stay true to yourself. If it is you the industry has interest in, then don't be deceived that you have to change for it. The only thing you have to do in this life is be yourself.

Where do you envision yourself in 5 years time?

Career wise, releasing a second album. This is of course after my first album has won a few Grammy's for its success. I have completed a world tour with sell-out shows in each country. I never aim low, (as you've noticed) I believe each of us can do anything. And after five years and success, my career is still just beginning.
