Sisqo

Sisqo
The red hot Dragon returns with his next smash hit 'Can I Live'.

Sisqo's first smash hit "Thong Song" became the party anthem of the new millennium and it's follow-up single, "Incomplete" was a #1 pop smash. No one would've dared to predict that the latter was just a taste of what was to come. His album, 'Return Of Dragon' would then go on to become:

  • 5,000,000 selling debut album

    AND WIN

  • 2 Radio Music Awards
  • 6 Billboard Awards
  • A Source Award
  • An MTV Video Music Award
  • A World Music Award.
  • Nomination for 4 Grammies
  • Nomination for 2 American Music Awards

"One of the most important things I did was create my own sound," Sisqo enthuses. "I mean I did that on the last album but this time I didn't want people to think that I was a one-hit-wonder or a flash in the pan. Now I know with this album I can sit back and say to them, 'watch me do it again.'"

Sisqo was also endorsed by both Pepsi and McDonalds, and he denies any feelings of pressure surrounding the event.

"I just went in and did it. We had hot producers, hot songs and I went in and laid it down, simple as that. I basically recorded a song a night. I loved the music and enjoyed doing it so pressure didn't come into it. I'll leave pressure to the other people. I'm too busy having fun. Not to sound conceited or anything, but I've been in the game for a minute now, and I didn't have eight platinum singles in a row for nothing. It didn't just happen. How many other people do you know that did that? From the jump I came out of nowhere from Baltimore and I've been doing my thing ever since."

Sisqo first made a name for himself with his winning streak within the R&B group of the mid 90's 'Dru Hill' from East Baltimore. The quartet had a string of smash singles including "Telling Me", "In My Bed", and "How Deep Is Your Love" from two platinum albums.

In his earlier years, his father wasn't happy with Sisqo's show biz aspirations and told Sisqo (then known better as Mark Andrews) to "Get a real job".

Sisqo, nowadays is doing everything in his power to keep his parents happy. Aside from his success, he is also beginning a career in acting, with his debut movie 'Get Over It', and he also has a deal with NBC and a five-picture contract with Miramax.

He also has a clothing line, "Dragon" set to launch soon.

Sisqo says his success is because he "Keeps moving. Whenever there's a problem instead of sitting around and crying over it, I just keep moving. I still don't think of myself as being a huge success. I'm not at the level where I want to be. By the end of this album I want to have my own level."

In an age of singers that can't act, dancers that can't sing and singers that can't dance (let along write their own songs), Sisqo is a rarity. A man of all trades, he is the artist others strive to be. The question is not when will he reach his own level but exactly how high will he go?
